The season when our vehicles refuse to start, our eyelashes and sinus infections freeze, and every step outside becomes a frightening journey on nature’s slip-and-slide. Forget risky things like high-speed car chases or skiing off a jagged mountain top that only a helicopter can fly you to. The real drama is watching folks navigate icy parking lots right here on the North Dakota prairie!

Small-town success comes from positive people and things

Like many young rural people, broadcast journalist Cory Hepola left his small hometown of Perham, Minn., looking for bigger city success. He landed in Fargo and then bounced around the country with broadcasting gigs in Montana, New York and Texas.

Encore 301 FREE Movie Saturday

Just in time for the Holidays, Encore 301 is bringing back a long-standing tradition: Free movies for Christmas! The first movie will be “Elf” and it will be shown at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 - first come first served! Concessions (like popcorn, etc.) will be sold but the ticket is free of charge, sponsored by the North Dakota Telephone Company.
