Tylie Brodina is now an all-state basketball player.

The Devils Lake sophomore was named to the Class A All-State Second Team released Wednesday by the NDAPSSA for the sport of girls’ basketball.

Brodina, a guard, averaged 15.5 points per game. She had a field goal percentage of 43.3% and 34.4% from three. She added 2.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.2 steals per game. She shot 66% from the free throw line.

Brodina has been an all-state tournament selection in each of her first two high school seasons. She was also the state tournament MVP last year.

This season’s Firebirds team ended up finishing fourth at the state tournament.

The First Team and Second Team each had six players. Brodina was joined by Thompson’s Kya Hurst, Kindred’s Siera Nipstad, Killdeer’s Mickellyn Walker, Turtle Mountain’s Aubrey Jeanotte and South Prairie-Max’s Rylee Routledge.

Thompson’s Addison Sage and SP-M’s Skotti Beck were both named to the First Team. As was Katie Burchill from the eventual champion, Valley City. Northern Cass’s Haidyn Crockett, one of only two Miss Basketball finalists, was another First Team selection. The First Team was rounded out by Bottineau’s Kyra Beckman and Wahpeton’s Scout Woods.

Brodina and her older brother, Parker Brodina, were both all-state basketball players this year for their respective teams.
