LRPL introduces New Chilren’s Librarian: Sam Bischof
The Lake Region Public Library is thrilled to announce the establishment of a full-time Children’s Librarian, a position that has been part-time for decades. Beginning in 2025, there will officially be a Children’s Librarian at the Lake Region Public Library every weekday, as well as some evenings and weekends!
Not only will this position be full-time, but we are soo excited to introduce Sam Bischof, formerly a circulation assistant at LRPL, as the new Children’s Librarian! When she’s not actively involved as a 4-H Club Leader or a BioGirls Marketing LEad, she can also be found in the Soldier Family Readiness Group through Camp Grafton and as a member of the Home and School of St. Joseph Elementary School.
Sam lives in Devils Lake with her husband Levi and kiddos Ryan and Charlie, and has been on the library team for over a year. You may recognize her from circulation over the past year, or from leading Storytime or a variety of other children’s and adult’s programs – when we say she does it all, that is NOT and exaggeration!
Sam brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and experience working with young people to this important job in the library and in the greater Lake Region. Her energy and enthusiasm for literacy, education and fun are infectious and her positivity shines through ev erything she does. She has been a wonderful addition to the team for the past year and we are eager for this next step in her journey as well as the Lake Region Public Library as an organization.
